1.0 Purpose and Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines authorized and prohibited uses of the Level 1 Labs online CyberSecure education platform, including course content, virtual lab environments ("Labs"), forums, communication tools, and related infrastructure (collectively, the "Platform").
As a cybersecurity training provider, we are entrusted with powerful educational tools. This policy establishes strict boundaries to ensure ethical, legal, and educational use only.
2.0 Principles of Ethical Use
- Legal Compliance: All activities must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Educational Intent: Use is limited to authorized coursework and learning objectives.
- Responsibility: Users are accountable for their actions; curiosity is not justification.
- Respect & Safety: The Platform must remain professional and safe.
- Infrastructure Integrity: Users must not compromise system security or performance.
3.0 Authorized Use
You are authorized to use the Platform to:
- Access enrolled courses and complete assigned curriculum
- Use Labs strictly within defined instructions and scope
- Develop cybersecurity skills for defensive security, ethical hacking with authorization, and security operations
4.0 Strictly Prohibited Conduct
4.1 Attacks Against Platform Infrastructure (Forbidden)
- Scanning or testing systems not explicitly designated as Lab targets
- Launching DoS or DDoS attacks
- Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or databases
- Bypassing authentication, authorization, or audit controls
- Using automated tools without written authorization
4.2 Abuse of Lab Environments (Forbidden)
- Escaping Lab containers or attacking host infrastructure
- Targeting systems outside defined Lab scope
- Hosting malware, phishing, or command-and-control services
- Mining cryptocurrency or misusing Lab resources
- Creating persistent backdoors or unauthorized access
4.3 Malicious Code & Tool Development (Forbidden)
- Developing or distributing malware
- Building tools for unauthorized access or disruption
- Conducting unauthorized security assessments against third parties
4.4 Content & Communication Violations (Forbidden)
- Posting unlawful, abusive, harassing, or offensive content
- Sharing stolen data, credentials, PII, or exploit code
- Planning or facilitating illegal activity
- Spamming or commercial solicitation
- Impersonating staff or other users
4.5 Circumvention of Security & Policies (Forbidden)
- Bypassing grading, certifications, or completion mechanisms
- Violating the Academic Integrity Policy
- Sharing or misusing accounts
5.0 Responsible Disclosure & Security Research
5.1 Reporting Vulnerabilities
- Do not exploit beyond proof-of-concept
- Do not publicly disclose vulnerabilities
- Report immediately to support@hackmefirst.com
- Provide detailed reproduction steps
5.2 Safe Harbor
Good-faith security research conducted responsibly and in compliance with this policy will not result in enforcement action.

- Account suspension or termination
- Revocation of coursework and certificates
- Forfeiture of paid fees

7.0 Acknowledgment and Agreement
By using the Level 1 Labs Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Acceptable Use Policy.
You agree to use the skills learned only for ethical purposes, with proper authorization, and in compliance with applicable laws.
This AUP forms part of the Level 1 Labs Terms of Service.
